Sometimes, life passes like a river underneath my feet.
It rushes by crazy or slips tranquil away,
leaving me to wonder.
I wonder about the places it will carry me,
the things I´ll do and say,
and the people I´ll greet, only to later say good bye.
I wonder if regret is inevitable,
if joy is temporary,
if guilt is a sullen scapegoat.
Sometimes, I worry about the turns the river will take.
But then I remember:
the pain of leaving,
the agony of loss,
only equals the joy of coming,
and the happiness you feel upon receiving.
I become pacified with the equilibriumog life
suddenly seeing,
its okay to wonder, but useless to worry
about what will be or what could have been,
when the river was there all along
twisting, turning of its own accord.
So I throw away the worry and the desire and the regret
keep the good times in my memory
and enjoy the ride.
